Baptist Health System Names Francis VP Human Resources

Beth Francis has been named vice president, human resources for Baptist Health System (BHS), according to Shane Spees, BHS president and chief executive officer.  Francis will join BHS in June.

“We are very pleased that Beth has accepted the call to lead our human resources team,” said Spees. “She was the clear choice from a field of outstanding candidates for the position. She is a strong, talented leader who shares our System’s values and has the expertise and experience to build on the success achieved by our human resources team.” 

Francis has served as vice president of human resources for DCH Health System (DCH) in Tuscaloosa since 2010.  In that position, she has been instrumental in leading the four-hospital system’s human resources function through communications, team-building and integration of technology, as well as education and training.  Prior to her tenure at DCH, Francis served in numerous leadership roles within the Carilion Health System and Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia from 1989 to 2009. 

Baptist Health System, Inc. is one of the largest health care systems in Alabama and one of the state's largest employers. The System is a not-for-profit, 501(c) corporation that owns and manages four hospitals in the state of Alabama. Baptist Health System is a ministry of the churches of the Birmingham Baptist Association, whose representatives elect the Board of Trustees. It was founded in 1922 by a group of local Baptist congregations.
