Birmingham, Ala---The Board of Directors of Baptist Health System (BHS) announces that Shane Spees, President and Chief Executive Officer, has accepted the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo. Spees joined Baptist Health System in 2007.
“While we are disappointed to see Shane leave, North Mississippi represents a unique professional opportunity for Shane. Additionally, and probably most importantly, Shane and his wife Parker were raised in Tupelo and their parents still reside there. Shane will be able to continue his growth as a healthcare leader while returning home and being closer to family,” said John Holcomb, Chairman of the BHS Board of Trustees.
Holcomb continued, “Shane has performed superbly since joining Baptist Health System of Alabama in 2007 as our Chief Executive Officer. Baptist is definitely a stronger organization thanks to Shane’s leadership. One of the most important legacies Shane will leave behind is the strategic direction and strong management team he has built. The team has the board’s confidence.”
Spees will remain at the helm through mid-December, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership.
