"For it was You who created my being, knit me together in my mother's womb. I thank You for the wonder of my being, for the wonders of all Your creation." Psalm 139
At Citizens Baptist Medical Center, our Labor & Delivery and Nursery units welcome you. Our family of physicians and staff want your birthing experience to be the best it can be and one that will be cherished for a lifetime. The birth of a child is truly a gift from God. It is a special time for family and friends to share in the joy of a new life...a new beginning.
At Citizens, we offer services to help prepare you for the arrival of your newborn. From prenatal education classes to breastfeeding support services, we are with you every step of the way. The first 24 hours at home can be exciting, emotional and perhaps, overwhelming at times and our moms can take comfort in knowing that help is a phone call away. From hospital to home, we are here to address your concerns 24/7.
Prenatal Education Classes are offered quarterly and no appointments are necessary. Classes are held in the hospital's banquet room on Monday evenings from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This is six-week course.
Please call 256-761-4595 for our current class schedule.
Breastfeeding is a natural, healthy choice for mom and baby! A breast fed baby's immune system is stronger and offers greater immunity form illness and infections, which means less time in the physician's office, and Mom benefits from a faster recovery time, reduced risk of ovarian and uterine cancer, increased weight-loss and saves money on doctor bills and the cost associated with formula feeding.
