Princeton Baptist Imaging strives to meet the needs of all its patients by providing advanced technology in a caring and comprehensive atmosphere. Princeton is proactive in remaining on the cutting edge of imaging technology.
Princeton has some of the most sophisticated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology in the state that helps doctors diagnose disease with greater speed and confidence. Princeton was the first clinical site in Alabama to install a 3-T MRI. The Signa® EXCITETM 3-T system is from GE Healthcare. Considered the most advanced technology of its kind in the world, the scanner provides doctors at Princeton with highly detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology to help them evaluate a wide range of conditions, including cancer, stroke, musculoskeletal, and heart disease.
Other technology includes GE VCT 64-slice CT scanner and GE Twin Speed MRI, Direct Digital Radiology (DR), 16-slice PET CT (positron emission technology) Computed Radiology (CR) equipment, as well as Computer Assisted Diagnosis (CAD) Breast Checker for digital mammography and GE volume ultrasound. With this technology, physicians are given the opportunity to look beyond what the human eye can see to quickly and accurately diagnose patients.
This new technology, along with the implementation of Emageon, our new PACS solution, allows for the physicians to have direct electronic access to their patient's images and radiology reports, on line, throughout the hospital, in the ICU's, surgery and in the ED. Physicians can also have access to this viewing solution in their office and/or at home, through a virtual private network (VPN).
