'Top Performer on Key Quality Measure' Recognition from The Joint Commission - September 2011

Citizens Baptist Medical Center was named among the nation's top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. Citizens Baptist was recognized by The Joint Commission based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. 
 
Citizens Baptist is one of ten hospitals in Alabama and 405 U.S. hospitals and critical access hospitals to earn the distinction of top performer on key quality measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance.

 
   

Elite HomeCare Agency  - October 2011

Citizens Baptist Medical Center's home care department has been named to the 2011 HomeCare EliteTM, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. This is the fourth time the hospital has received this recognition. 

HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of home care agencies and further highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Winners are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, process of care measures and financial performance. 

   

Best Places To Work - 2010

Baptist Health System was named one of the Birmingham Business Journal's (BBJ) Best Places to Work for 2010. On behalf of the BBJ, Quantum Workplace conducted surveys for nominated companies throughout Birmingham and each company was required to complete a predetermined number of surveys. Companies were divided into three categories based on its number of employees and were ranked in order of score. The highest were designated as one of Birmingham's Best Places to Work.

   

VHA Patient Satisfaction - June 2009

This award recognizes hospitals who have received high ratings from patients in doctor and nurse communication, staff responsiveness, pain management, communications about medications and discharge instructions.  

   

 American College of Radiology Accreditation (Mammography) - May 2009

Headquartered in Reston, Va., the American College of Radiology awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice.  Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.  They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility's equipment.  The accreditation is valid for three years.

Perfect score with state inspection for radiology - July 2009

The State of Alabama sets high standards regarding radiation exposure and radiation protocols, which monitor radiation exposure per procedure along with equipment calibration records. These surveys usually occur once every 3 years on an unscheduled basis.

 

   

Perfect score with state inspection for nuclear medicine - July 2009

Nuclear medicine inspections come on an unscheduled basis. Primarily once every 2 years. The State Of Alabama regulatory agency related to the use of radioactive materials for the healing arts sets high standards that must be met.
