David C. Wilson became president of Shelby Baptist Medical Center on February 20, 2006, bringing with him many years of experience in hospital administration and a history of running hospitals that achieve top-rated patient satisfaction as well as high employee satisfaction scores. Prior to coming to Shelby Baptist, Wilson was chief executive officer at Saint Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee. He also gained experience serving as chief executive officer at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Medical Center of Manchester in Manchester, Tennessee. Wilson received his master of science in health administration, graduating with honors, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1989. He holds bachelor's degrees in zoology and biology, both with honors, from the University of Tennessee.
