Patient Education Channel
Walker Baptist's in-house educational channels are available to provide you with information about your illness or injury. The Patient Education Channel is found on Channel 50. This educational TV Channel is provided by GE and NBC and provides excellent health and education programming. Programming schedules are available upon admission. A hospital bulletin board that has information about activities and educational opportunities at the hospital is located on Channel 2.
Local newspapers are delivered each day by our Volunteer Services. Newspaper boxes are also located outside the main entrance to the hospital and outside the Emergency Department entrance.
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each day by Volunteer Services. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded to your home.
Wireless internet is available in patient rooms as well as in the cafeteria and the waiting areas throughout the hospital. Patients and visitors are welcomes to bring their laptops with wireless internet access to the hospital for their personal use.
Walker Baptist provides free language interpretation by phone for all foreign language speaking patients and their families. If someone is needed for interpretation during your stay, please contact your nurse or other patient care giver.
For the Hearing Impaired
A variety of services are available for the hearing impaired. If sign language service is needed please contact your nurse or other patient care giver so arrangements can be made to provide this service for you.
