Breast Center
The Walker Baptist Breast Center, located in suite 218 of the Medical Arts Tower, offers a beautiful and comfortable environment to provide patients with quality mammograms, while giving physicians detailed images to use in providing a diagnosis.

In addition to digital mammography, the Walker Breast Center also offers minimally invasive, computer assisted, stereotactic breast biopsies in the same comfortable environment.

Stereotactic breast biopsies are an alternative to an open or surgical biopsy. A sample of suspect breast tissue is precisely located with a computer guided imaging system or digital mammogram and removed with a needle. This procedure is completed on an outpatient basis in the Walker Breast Center.

To schedule a mammogram call 387-4900, but remember a physician's order is required.

CT

CT or advanced computed tomography, exams are used when people are ill or injured, or when a physician suspects a medical problem that is not easily detectable from a conventional physical examination. CT scans non-invasively assists physicians in the diagnosis of a variety of anatomical areas.

Walker Baptist offers two options for CT scans the GE Healthcare's LightSpeed Pro-16 advanced CT system in Walker Outpatient Imaging or the GE Healthcare, LightSpeed® VCT XT 64-Slice CT configured system, which delivers high quality images with improved resolution and lowered radiation dose for patients. CT technologists at Walker Baptist have undergone specialized applications training for both GE LightSpeed Systems.

MRI
Walker Baptist's Open Bore, 1.5 Tesla, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system combines a larger bore, or opening, for larger or claustrophobic patients with the ability to capture high-field quality diagnostic images.

The machine features an opening of nearly 2.3 feet in diameter and almost one foot of free space between a patient's head and the magnet. It also features the shortest 1.5 Tesla magnet available. Approximately four feet long, the magnet allows more than 60 percent of exams to be completed with the patient's head outside the opening, helping to ease claustrophobia.
